Title: Present Yourself and be Recognized
Post by: Pain Killer on August 28, 2013, 08:52:56 AM
This is a place to introduce yourself and your ideals on Liberty. This is not a place for political discussions or to vent about the government.

Thank You

..Pain Killer..  Hello my name is Josey Wales and I like the book "Lexington and Concord" by Arthur Tourtellot.  I like the fact that the book proves historically that the Preachers of Christianity in America during the period of Lightism were teaching a new common sense approch to studying the Bible.  These Preachers who came from the school of Harvard had a direct impact on the building of "Men that knew what they were about."  This is no coincidence to the resilience and determination of a just and rightous people who fought in the Revolution and then formed our prefect union.  God Bless them and all that follow in their footsteps with Liberty's intent.

....Strength & Honor...........Josey Wales.............

My name is Alan.  I've hosted a couple awesome Appleseed's on my farm here in Indiana, and I set up a Libertyseed here in my home town at a local church for October 16th.  My end goal is to get the community familiar with the program, and slowly work it into more public venues like the high school.  I didn't know the Liberty seed had its own forum, until Pain Killer sent me a message.  Hopefully Ill be able to sponge some info from you folks to help plan/promote the events.

If your near Richmond Indiana, or Oxford Ohio put the 16th on your calender.

My name is Dwight and I'm an IIT2, having recently shot Rifleman in September. My "April 19" library has been growing steadily over the last year. I just completed Lion of Liberty by Harlow Giles Unger and I'm currently reading Lexington and Concord by Arthur B. Tourtellot and a little book called The Lexington-Concord Battle Road published by the Concord Chamber of Commerce with an hour-by-hour synopsis of April 19. I'm currently looking into creating displays that can go in a library or other community center, hopefully to coincide with a Liberty Seed at that location in April. I have a lot of brushing up on the 3 strikes first. I'm also putting together period garb for story-telling and promo next year. Trying my hand at the fife, but it's harder to play than I thought it would be. I'll have to keep practicing when there's nobody home.

Mike Murray from Iowa.
I am the state coordinator for both Libertyseed and Appleseed. The part that really stuck with me when I attended my first Appleseed were the stories. I went to learn to improve my marksmanship but the heritage kept me around.

My goal for next year is at least 6 LS I personally deliver. I will also be challenging my SB and Instructor core to perform too.

Eric Inman (Gugisman) checking in...

As an IIT3, I'm working to learn the history well enough to be able to tell the stories, and to be able to add more content as needed. I have not publicly presented any of the stories yet.

An immediate goal is to locally promote AS and/or LS to Trail Life USA. This is the new boys outdoor Christian organization that is growing and spreading across the nation. As our country continues to move "forward" in its progression away from, and in direct conflict to, Christianity - organizations like Trail Life USA will arise from the muck. Trail Life USA sprung up after the May 2013 decision by the BSA to admit openly homosexual boys. That was the final straw. Trail Life USA is fully operational with uniforms, handbooks, national support, and... the ability to transfer all BSA advancement! Check it out here: http://www.traillifeusa.com/who-we-are/ (http://www.traillifeusa.com/who-we-are/)

Our church, Denton Bible Church, TX, has suspended its association with the BSA. We have chartered a Trail Life USA troop - and I have committed to be a troop leader.

Trail Life USA is a mission field for AS and/or LS!

Tominct here. I never knew this forum existed, must be one of the better kept secrets!

Some Ct IT's have run successful LS presentations in the past, unfortunately many are no longer active. I'll see if a couple can get the story told in their locale, along with some of the newer folks in Ct.

The story is what has kept me involved, as there are few stories better that are true. SeanO was one of the early IT's who had a great understanding of what the telling the 3 strikes means to us all and had submitted a list of books worth reading. He is also a friend and mentor.

Hello All.  I am L0ck3. Trained A.S. in socal and moved to Carolinas in '12. I will be delivering an LS to cub scouts in Asheville, NC next month. I am building my program to include some specific quotes that the parents (dads or moms) could read aloud to help give some depth to the three strikes. Does anyone have any favourite quotes that you think this young crowd would connect to in this format (i.e. parents reading a "script")? I am going to follow an opening and storyline as suggested by Mac66 following the strikes from the POV of Jonathan Harrington or Billy Diamond.

Hi I'm Wally Thomas up in Eagle River, Alaska.
I like the words of Dr. Joseph Warren:
"that it is an indispensible duty that we owe to our God, our country, ourselves and our Posterity to use every lawful way and means in our power to preserve, maintain and defend those civil and religious liberties and rights for which many of our fathers fought, bled, and died; and to hand them down entire to future generations."

Phil

1. Start learning the History -- look at Fred's Guideposts, PHenry's Strikes, DonD's Sample History in the manual, read Paul Revere's Ride. You can begin with Dangerous Old Man & Young Women as they are 'smaller bites.'
2. While you doing the above, make a list of every possible venue where a LibertySeed might be held.  Gather contact information at every opportunity.
3. Help your nearest Shoot Boss or Liberty Seed coordinator book these venues and promote attendance.
Wash, rinse, repeat.
In one sense that's all there is to it.
If you ever need any help, PM me.

Hello,
Wally 'fisherdawg' Thomas up here in Anchorage / Eagle River / Chugiak, Alaska
I'm a Shoot Boss.

Here are some of my ideals on Liberty:

"If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary." Pubilius (James Madison in the Federalist Papers)

"Young man, what we meant in going for those Redcoats was this: we always had governed ourselves and we always meant to. They didn't mean we should."
(Captain Levi Preston, of the Danvers militia, at age 91, remembering the day)

"That it is an indispensable duty which we owe to God, our country, ourselves and posterity, by all lawful ways and means in our power to maintain, defend and preserve those civil and religious rights and liberties, for which many of our fathers fought, bled and died, and to hand them down entire to future generations."  (Suffolk Resolves, September 9, 1774, attributed to Dr. Joseph Warren)

“Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains." (Patrick Henry)

“The American Constitution is remarkable for its simplicity; but can only suffice a people habitually correct in their actions, and would be utterly inadequate to the wants of a different nation.  Change the domestic habits of the Americans, their religious devotion, and their high respect for morality, and it will not be necessary to change a single letter in the Constitution in order to vary the whole form of their government.”  (Francis Grund 1837)

"In the prevailing political theory of the founding era, the family was considered one of the essential pillars of republican virtue, and it not only needed to be nurtured, but also protected from the tyranny of the government.... American revolutionaries and their descendants understood marriage and the family to be schools of republican virtue.”  (Mary Lyndon Shanley, Review Essay, 27 Law & Soc. Inq. 923, 926 (2002))

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom,go home from us.We ask not your counsels or arms.Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you.May your chains set lightly upon you and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." (Samuel Adams)

“Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of. Our enemies are numerous and powerful; but we have many friends, determining to be free, and heaven and earth will aid the resolution. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important question, on which rest the happiness and liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves.” (Dr. Joseph Warren March 5, 1775)

Hello - Sharon Sabo (mutti) SB in Southern Illinois. See I have much to learn.

Participation in Appleseed/LibertySeed based on the belief that the obligation to pass on a future that has more Freedom to our Children and all those whom I meet is my duty.

Looks like I have some reading / catching up to do.

Hi everyone. J.C. here from Central Virginia. I attended an Appleseed event this past October in Montpelier, VA and had a great time & learned a lot. Great instructors! I recently joined as an Associate Member and plan on attending more events this year.

I was happy to receive in my membership materials 'The Patriot's Essential Liberty' pocket guide. Always good reading! As far as our liberty goes, it's more important now then it's been in a while that we keep our liberty intact.  Some are trying harder then ever to take away some of our inherent rights. Thus, jeopardizing our liberty.
